The University of Texas Medical Branch, Department of Microbiology and Immunology in Galveston, Texas has been performing research into the future of topical lubricants as possible weapons against HIV. *The UTMB study has been performed in test tubes only, clinical trials still need to be performed. The FDA has not approved the use of any personal lubricant as prevention for AIDS/HIV.
