Although discussion on regular STD testing has come a long way over the years, getting tested can still be awkward, time-consuming and sometimes even embarrassing. Anyone who has ever visited a free clinic or doesn’t have a regular physician knows that although regular testing is important, it can be difficult to talk about your sexual history with someone you’ve never met…even if they are a doctor.
Now a more discreet and convenient option is being developed that could be almost as simple as an at home pregnancy test.
Residents of Los Angeles County can log on to dontthinkknow.org and sign up for an at-home test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Simply request a kit, send in the test and get a text within a week with your results. Not too shabby, huh?
New programs are being set up all over the country. To find out if the service is currently available in your city, visit iwantthekit.org.
To celebrate the release of Natural, our latest lube to hit the streets…er shelves, we threw a video contest earlier this month to ask the world, “How do you go green while getting it on?”. We poked, prodded and yelled from the rooftops to gather your ideas on ways to make the bedroom, intimacy or plain ol’ romping more eco-friendly.
Although many seemed not quite ready to display their mug to the world talking about Astroglide, we did manage to receive some great entries! In the end, it was difficult to choose who the lucky grand prize winner would be, but we finally did it.
So without further ado, please put your lubed hands together for the winner featured below! Thanks again to everyone who participated and got the word out on the contest. Look for future posts with more details on the winning video!
A few posts ago, we wrote a piece on budget date ideas and it got us thinking how important date night really is for couples. Sometimes, the pressures of adult life—mortgage payments, bills, work, children, etc—become so time-consuming that we forget to set aside a little time for (much-needed) romance. As one mother expecting twins puts it, “Stop! I Need a Date With My Husband”.
No matter if you are expecting, consistently caught up with work or just need to rekindle the spark in your relationship, a weekly or bi-weekly date night is a fantastic idea to make sure you and your significant other are connecting positively and enjoying each other’s company on a regular basis.
It doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate—it can be as simple as taking a romantic stroll and cooking dinner together while the children stay the night at a friend or family member’s house. The important thing is to make spending time alone together a priority for you both. If you need to, write it down in your weekly calendar so you view it as an appointment or upcoming activity.
How do you keep your relationship with your significant other going strong? Leave us your ideas below!
