Deciding Whether to Use Condoms

Home » Ask Yvonne » Answers » Deciding Whether to Use Condoms
My boyfriend and I have been sexually active ever since we started daiting and have been using condoms all that time. Recently, he has wanted us to stop using condoms, I've been telling him that we have to bu he doesn't understand. Should we stop the use of condoms or not?

Dear Dianne,

This is your decision more than anybody’s. If a sexually active person wants to avoid the risk of acquiring a sexually transmitted infection or becoming pregnancy, then it’s best to use a condom. In explaining this to your partner, ask him why he would like to quit using protection. At some point, almost every couple has the conversation of whether or not to use prophylactics, and it’s important to hear from both lovers. That doesn’t mean, however, that you need to change your mind.
